Man admits gas blast toddler death

A man's admitted the manslaughter of the two year old boy who died in a gas explosion in the summer.

The explosion happened when two year old Jamie Heaton was watching television and his Mum was hanging out the washing at their home in Shaw near Oldham.

Today Andrew Partington who lived next door pleaded guilty to a series of charges. He'll be sentenced in February.

Jamies' parents were at today's hearing, as our correspondent Rob Smith reports:

A man has admitted the manslaughter of a toddler killed in the Oldham gas blast last June.

Andrew Partington, 27, also pleaded guilty eight counts of destruction of propert at Manchester Crown Court.

Two-year-old Jamie Heaton was killed in the blast Buckley Street, Shaw.

Around 40 families were moved to a refuge centre after the explosion damaged around a dozen properties, many of them so badly affected they had to be torn down.
