Drink drive campaign launches
Drivers across the region are being warned of the dangers of getting behind the wheel after drinking or taking drugs.
Police forces across the region have launched their annual Christmas clampdown today. On Merseyside last year they saw an increase in the number of people being arrested.
Our correspondent Andy Bonner has been finding out how police are trying to tackle the problem:
