M6 crash family say Christmas joy turned to tragedy

The family of two brothers and a 32-year-old woman who were killed in a crash on the M6 on Christmas day have described how their festive joy turned into tragedy.

They were on their way to a wedding in Bolton.

Brothers Adnan Habib, 10, and Arsalaan Habib, 4, and their mother’s aunt, Bushra Tazarib, 32, all died.

"Christmas day began with all the joy all over the UK. We, asthe rest of the nation, had the build-up to the Christmas holidays, attendingschool plays and preparing for a family wedding.

"The joy turned into tragedy in a split second, when we lostour boys moments apart and our beloved auntie.

"Adnan and Arsalaan were our family’s precious jewels,spreading joy wherever they went. They were happy and joyous boys who were a centralpart of the family, always smiling and bringing smiles to everyone they met.

"Bushra had been part of the family by marriage for almost 14 years, and was a vital person. Always helping and supporting every member at all times, regardless of difficulty and joy. Bushra was so loving of all children, even though she was not blessed of any of her own.

"We thank everyone for their kind words of support, and we would like everyone to remember them in your prayers."

The family of a woman who died in a crash on the M6 on Christmas Day has said she was "always helping and supporting" her family.

In a statement they said: "Bushra had been part of the family by marriage for almost 14 years, and was a vital person.

"Always helping and supporting every member at all times, regardless of difficulty and joy. Bushra was so loving of all children, even though she was not blessed of any of her own."

In a statement Adnan and Arsalaan Habib's family described the brothers as their "family's precious jewels, spreading joy wherever they went".

The statement added: "They were happy and joyous boys who were a central part of the family, always smiling and bringing smiles to everyone they met."

Christmas Day M6 crash victims were heading to a wedding in Greater Manchester

Police have named the three people killed in a crash on the M6 in Staffordshire yesterday. They were two young brothers: Adnan Habib, aged 10, and Mohammed Arsalaan Habib, aged 4, and a 32-year-old woman, Bushra Tazarib.

They were travelling from their home in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire to a family wedding in Greater Manchester.

Two women who were also injured in the incident have been discharged from hospital. One was the mother of the two boys and was driving the car. The other was also a relative.

Police are continuing to appeal for information about the incident. Anyone with any information is urged to contact the Central Motorway Police Group's Collision Investigation Unit on 01785 234094.
