Blackpool search called off
A search for a man swept out to sea while walking his dog in Blackpool has been called off.

Blackpool’s RNLI volunteers were called out shortly after midnight to reports of a man in the water at South Pier, Blackpool.

Two RNLI lifeboat crews from Blackpool and Lytham were joined by the Coastguard, the police, and fire service in last night's search.
Blackpool RNLI spokesman Paul Parton said ‘tonight’s search was a long and difficult one and sadly we were unable to find the casualty.’
A 41 year old man is missing after being swept out to sea in Blackpool. It's believed he was walking his dog.
The coastguard has said It is "highly unlikely" the man has survived. It's reported the
41-year-old was reported to have been walking his dog near the South Pier with another man when they ended up in the water shortly after midnight. A shoreline search for the man's body was continuing.
