Bolton Council has confirmed a visit to the leisure and research facility Bolton One by Princess Anne has also been cancelled.
The Princess Royal was also due to tour Bolton Hospital today, but that has also been called off.
Princess Anne's visit to Bolton Hospital has been cancelled.
She was due to tour the hospital's Princess Anne Maternity Unit, which she opened 35 years ago.
Health workers are due to protest outside the hospital after 500 redundancies were announced at Bolton NHS Trust.
It is understood the Princess's visit was cancelled for logistical reasons.

Bolton NHS Trust is facing hundreds of compulsory redundancies - staff believe these job losses will threaten patient safety and care.
Campaigners claim the maternity unit has already been dealing with 40% more births than commissioners expected.
The Trust currently has a deficit of £12.4 million.
In a statement the Trust said:
HRH The Princess Royal will be visiting the Princess Anne Maternity Unit at the Royal Bolton Hospital- 35 years after she opened the unit.
Princess Anne will also officially open the health, leisure and research centre, Bolton One. She will meet Olympic gold medallist Jason Kenny and former Bolton Wanderers player Fabrice Muamba.
