Hospital jobs at risk

Up to 600 jobs are at risk at the Royal Liverpool hospital.

Unite: Liverpool NHS job losses ‘a bolt from the blue’

The union Unite says it's seeking an urgent meeting with NHS managers after reports that 600 jobs in Liverpool could face the axe over the next five years.

“We need to confirm exactly was what said at the meeting as the trust has made no public announcement on these job losses.

“This has come as a bolt from the blue and Unite, along with other unions, will be seeking discussions with management. Unite will be campaigning strongly to defend our members’ jobs and the services they provide to the public.

“The NHS across the country is facing a crisis caused by the government’s privatisation agenda for the health service and the financial strait-jacket that NHS staff now have to work under.”
