The woman at the centre of sex abuse allegations involving leading choir director Michael Brewer is thought to have killed herself during the trial, it can be reported today, after Brewer was convicted by a jury at Manchester Crown Court.
A former Chetham's music director has been found guilty of indecent assault against a pupil 30 years ago.
Michael Brewer was found guilty of five counts of indecent assault against a pupil at the Chetham's School of Music in Manchester.
The jury still considering a charge of rape against Brewer.
His ex-wife Kay was found guilty of one charge of indecent assault.
The jury is also still considering a charge of aiding and abetting rape against her.
