The first of 1,200 trees will be planted in an area that will become one of the key gateway routes into Wirral Waters.

The 4.5 billion pound scheme will see a large area of currently derelict dockland turned into offices, homes and a new marina

It's hoped the new landscape will help transform key streets connecting Wirral Waters into existing communities including North Birkenhead.

The first of 1200 trees will be planted in the area today.
