Wigan Warriors have today dismissed any prospect of them selling Sam Tomkins to Salford.
The City Reds made the audacious bid for the England full back earlier this week.
They have come into money after being rescued from closure by millionaire businessman Dr Marwan Koukash.
And while Tomkins has been linked with moves to the Australian Rugby League and Rugby Union, Wigan Head Coach Shaun Wane insists his prize asset is not for sale.
New Salford owner Dr Marwan Koukash has made an audacious and unlikely bid to sign Wigan and England star Sam Tomkins.
Koukash told the Manchester Evening News: "I have contacted Wigan to tell them I am interested in signing Sam and would be prepared to pay a transfer fee for him.
"That's all I can say at this stage. We'll see what happens."
