Darwen murder charge

A man has been charged with murder after a body was found in Lancashire. Officers discovered 60 year old Brian Hughes when they were called to The Lea on Queen Street in Darwen on Sunday after reports of an assault.

Man accused of murder remanded in custody

A 31-year-old man has been remanded in custody accused of murdering his father at a house in Lancashire.

The body of 60-year-old Brian Hughes was found at The Lea in Darwen, in the early hours of Sunday.

A post-mortem examination found he died of head injuries.

Anthony Hughes, of no fixed address, was remanded by magistrates in Blackburn.

He is due appear before Preston Crown Court in a fortnight.

A post mortem showed he died of head injuries.

31 year old Anthony Hughes of no fixed abode has been charged with his murder.

He'll appear before Blackburn Magistrates on Tuesday.
