GMP to recognise attacks on sub cultures as hate crimes

Police in Manchester will be the first in the country to record a new category of hate crime - it will include any crime which targets the likes of Punks, Goths and Emos.

It is seen as major breakthrough for a charity set up in memory of 20-year-old Sophie Lancaster. She was murdered by a gang in a park in Bacup because of the way she and her boyfriend were dressed.
