One person has died and two others have been injured after a light aircraft flying from Blackpool crashed in Wales.

Man from Blackburn dies in plane crash

A man has died in a plane crash that has left his 5-year-old son and father seriously injured in hospital.

The family from Blackburn were flying from Blackpool to North Wales in clear skies yesterday.

Witnesses said their aircraft clipped trees as it approached the runway.

The plane's owner said they were a 'lovely family'.

Police have named a man from Lancashire who died when a light aircraft crashed in North Wales. Iain Nuttall was 37 and from the Blackburn area. A young boy and a second man are seriously ill in hospital after the accident.
