The Daily Mirror's deputy TV editor Mark Jefferies reports that Coronation Street actor Chris Fountain could be seen in the soap for up to eight weeks after his sacking:

The Sun is reporting that Coronation Street has sacked actor Chris Fountain after he admitted posting offensive songs on YouTube as a masked rapper called The Phantom:
Chris Fountain's ITV contract has been terminated as a result of "unacceptable comments" made in online clips.
Chris Fountain has had his Coronation Street contract cancelled according to reports.
An ITV spokesperson said: "Chris Fountain's contract with ITV has been terminated as a result of the unacceptable comments he made in a number of online clips."
Coronation Street actor Chris Fountain has had his contract cancelled. The former Hollyoaks star posted several video which featured raps with themes of violence and rape.
ITV called the videos "unacceptable."

In a statement Chris Fountain who plays Tommy Duckworth in Coronation Street, said:
"I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused. I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour."
