Services affected from midnight

Bus workers for Network Warrington will begin a 24-hour strike from midnight tonight.

They are protesting over a zero per cent pay offer.

Most services are likely to be affected.

The Unite union says there will be a series of one day stoppages over the next seven weeks.

Leaders says the company is not listening to its case and is calling on the owners - Warrington borough council - to intervene to resolve the dispute.

Network Warrington says it's the first time in 16 years that the staff have not had a pay increase and that it's extremely disappointed by the action.
