A woman is due in court today charged with animal cruelty offences after her four dogs killed a teenager in Atherton. 14 year-old Jade Lomas-Anderson was mauled to death by the dogs at a house last March.

The owner of four dogs that attacked and killed a teenage girl has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty.

Beverley Concannon owned the animals when they mauled Jade Anderson at a house in Atherton near Wigan in March this year.

The 14 year old was visiting a friend during her school holidays.

Armed officers shot dead the four dogs at the house.

Today Miss Concannon admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal. She will be sentenced later this month.
