More than a hundred seriously ill children have boarded a flight to meet Father Christmas, for the annual When You Wish Upon A Star charity trip to Lapland.

For one day, hospital visits and coping with a life-threatening condition were put to one side as the youngsters and their families truly had a day to remember.

Paul Crone joined them on their trip to meet Santa, and his report does contain some flash photography.
