Darren Fletcher has been handed his first Manchester United start in over a year at Hull to cap his comeback from a chronic bowel condition.
Fletcher last appeared in the starting eleven in December 2012, but has made two substitute appearances this month, while Danny Welbeck was passed fit despite knee problems.
Hull, whose manager Steve Bruce is eyeing a first win over former club United in 15 years as a manager, sent out the same side for the fourth Barclays Premier League match in a row.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is unhappy with the festive fixture schedulers for making his team play two games in three days when rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea will all have an extra rest day.
– MANUEL PELLEGRINI
"It's not fair, it should be the same for all teams.
I don't know if the word is ridiculous but playing 46 hours from one game to another is not the best thing for the players - they cannot recover in 46 hours.
All the teams must have the same rest. Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Liverpool all of them play after (December) 26 and 29. And we play 26 and 28."
