59-year-old Andrew Mitchell from Lancaster who claimed 35 thousand pounds in disability benefits and said he needed round-the-clock care was caught working as a delivery driver.

Courier caught fiddling benefits in Lancaster

A man from Lancaster has been caught falsely claiming disability benefit whilst working as a parcel courier.

Andrew Mitchell was caught on camera carrying heavy boxes around at the same time fleecing the taxpayer out of thirty five thousand pounds.

Today a judge ordered him to pay back every penny.

Delivery driver escapes jail after being caught commiting benefit fraud

A man from Lancaster who claimed 35 thousand pounds in disability benefits and said he needed round-the-clock care has been given a four month suspended prison sentence after investigators caught him at work as a delivery driver.

59-year-old Andrew Mitchell was caught on camera carrying thousands of heavy parcels around despite telling the Department for Work and Pensions that he could not leave the house alone.
