Many of us promise ourselves that at some time in our lives we will visit the death camp at Auschwitz.
Millions have been there since the end of the second world war, never quite knowing what to expect.
Almost all say it was an experience that changed their lives.
The latest to go to the camp in Poland were a group of two hundred sixth form students from the North West - with them was our reporter Daniel Hewitt:-
Two hundred children from schools across the North West have travelled to Auschwitz as part of a project to educate future generations about the holocaust.
100 schools from our region took part in the visit, which is funded by the Holocaust Educational Trust.
It aims to give young people the chance to learn what happened there, so they can pass on their experiences in their schools and colleges.
