The creator of Coronation Street, Tony Warren, is to receive the inaugural Nations and Regions Media Achievement Award at this year’s Salford International Media Festival.
The award recognises his outstanding contribution to, and impact on, the development of media in the Nations and Regions of the UK.
Tony Warren established the world’s longest running TV soap opera in production, Coronation Street. He is still a consultant to the show. The Royal Television Society has labelled the show as “the most successful television programme in British history”.
The Salford International Media Festival runs at the University of Salford from Monday 16th to Thursday 19th November
