The childhood homes of former Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney have become grade two listed buildings. "Mendips" in Woolton, Liverpool is where Lennon learned to play guitar. Sir Paul lived in nearby Forthlin Road. The band rehearsed and wrote some of their most famous songs there.
The Minister for tourism and heritage John Penrose is in Liverpool. He's announced Paul McCartney and John Lennon's home will be given listed status. Listing a building marks its special architectural and historic interest.
