Wiggins prepares to cycle into the history books

Chorley's Bradley Wiggins could make Olympic history this afternoon when he takes part in his second event of London 2012.

Earlier today North West rowers Rick Edginton and Matt Longridge helped deliver Bronze for Team GB in the Men's 8.

Attention now turns to Wiggins, who will become Britain's most successful Olympian if he clinches a medal in the time trials. Daniel Hewitt reports.

Chorley's Bradley Wiggins has official Olympic kit stolen

Chorley's Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins has had his official Olympic training kit stolen from the Team GB team hotel.

The kit apparently vanished while he was using the gym and spa at a hotel in Surrey.

The cyclist is aiming for gold in Wednesday's time trial.
