Police in Manchester have confirmed connections with shootings today in Clayton and Droylsden and the death of amateur boxer Mark Short, who was gunned down inside the Cotton Tree Inn in Droylsden in May.
A man has died after shots were fired at two houses in Clayton and Droylsden.
Police discovered the man shortly after 10.30am this morning after being called to an address in Clayton, following reports of gunshots.
A short time later, at 10.39am, police received reports that shots had been fired at an address in Droylsden.
Extra officers are currently being deployed to both areas, including armed response officers.
Police say it's not known whether the incidents are linked or whether anyone else has been injured.
Police say they do not believe a gunman in Greater Manchester to be a threat to the wider public after a man died after shots were fired in Clayton this morning.
