A Fiat Punto and a black Ford Mondeo collided on Graver Lane. The driver of the Ford got out of the car and ran off.
The 60 year old driver of the Punto suffered broken legs, a broken ankle and chest injuries. The 12-year-old boy suffered broken legs and a 47-year-old woman has cuts and bruising.
– Sergeant Mark Thomas, Serious Collision Investigation Unit
From what we have been told, we believe the Ford was driving in the opposite direction to the Punto and for some reason, crossed into their path, causing a head on collision. The man and boy have suffered serious leg injuries and are currently in hospital recovering. Fortunately, the woman's injuries are not as serious. “I would ask the driver of the Mondeo or anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact us as soon as possible. We are determined to catch who is responsible but we need the public’s help in tracing them.
