Tributes are being paid to Manchester born lead singer of The Monkees Davy Jones who's died at the age of 66 following a heart attack.
Jones found fame as the frontman of the 60s group The Monkees, who had nine top 40 hits including I'm A Believer, Daydream Believer and Last Train To Clarksville.
All of his family, friends and fans mourn Davy's loss. We were fortunate to have such an incredible human being in our lives. Sadly, his time on Earth was cut far too short and he will be missed tremendously by all who knew him."
Tributes to Monkee Davy Jones
Tributes have been paid to Manchester-born Monkees lead singer Davy Jones, who died of a heart attack at the age of 66.
The star's former bandmate Peter Tork said in a statement on Facebook:
"His talent will be much missed; his gifts will be with us always. My deepest sympathy to Jessica and the rest of his family. Adios, to the Manchester Cowboy. Peace and love, Peter T."

The Associated Press are reporting that Monkees singer Davy Jones died of a heart attack. The Florida Medical examiner did not state a cause of death.
Davy Jones dies in Florida
Singer Davy Jones has died at the age of 66 in America. The Manchester-born singer and actor died in a hospital in Florida. He was the lead singer of swinging sixties band The Monkees. They had a string of hits including "I'm a believer" and "Daydream Believer"
