Man charged over Shaw gas blast

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal explosion in Shaw back in June. Two year old Jamie Heaton was killed in the blast.

Andrew Partington, 27, formerly of Buckley Street, Shaw, is charged with manslaughter and criminal damage He'll appear at Oldham Magistrates' Court this afternoon.

A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of manslaughter remains on police bail pending further inquiries.|

Detectives investigating a gas explosion in Shaw that killed a toddler have interviewed a key witness in their investigation.

Andrew Partington, who's 27 was questioned at his hospital bedside as he continues to recover from the burns he received.

Two year old Jamie Heaton who lived next door was killed in the explosion in June. Officers say Mr Partington faces further questioning if and when he is declared fit enough to leave hospital.
