Thousands turn out for Bolton Sky ride
Over 7,000 people joined Jason Kenny, triple Olympic gold medallist for Sky Ride Bolton yesterday.
The free cycling event allowed riders to enjoy the 5km route at their own pace on car free roads.
Jason Kenny, triple Olympic gold medallist, commented,
“It was fantastic being here in Bolton for Sky Ride today and great to see so many people riding their bikes and enjoying a really good day out. It’s been an exciting summer for British Cycling and it’s great to see initiatives like Sky Ride are giving people an opportunity to get on their bikes.”
Jason Kenny starts Bolton Skyride
Three-time Olympic gold medallist Jason Kenny was back home in Bolton to launch the Skyride event.
Hundreds of people got on their bikes and cycled the streets of the town centre.

Bolton's Jason Kenny has been honoured in a new stamp issued to celebrate his Olympic gold medal.
Jason is featured alongside team members Sir Chris Hoy and Philip Hindes in the Men’s Cycling Team Sprint final.
It's the fifth Gold Medal stamp to be issued by Royal Mail.
