Rio Ferdinand has defied his manager Sir Alex Ferguson's wishes by not wearing an anti-racism t-shirt provided by the Kick It Out charity.

Reading striker Jason Roberts said he would refuse to support the campaign as it wasn't doing enough to combat racism in football.

Ferguson yesterday said that he thought Roberts was wrong and that all of his players would be wearing a warm-up top. Today however Ferdinand warmed-up without the t-shirt.

Manchester City's Joleon Lescott also refused to wear the t-shirt in the warm-up for their match at West Brom.
