Rhino's born at Knowsley safari park

Knowsley Safari has announced a baby boom as they welcome two adorable new arrivals to their family - male and female white rhinoceros calves, that keepers have named Njiri and Thabo.

The two latest calves are the 12th and 13th rhino calves to be born at Knowsley Safari in the last decade as part of their extensive breeding programme which is managed in association with the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria’s (EAZA) European Endangered Species Programme (EEP).

A new design of urban beehive is set to go head to head with the traditional design, as Knowsley Safari Park set out to uncover the most effective way to protect and nurture the British honey bee.

Numbers of bees in Great Britain have reached a steady year-on-year decline, with research showing a 54% decline in the managed population between 1985 - 2005.
