A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at her home in Salford.
Police were called to a house on Westbourne Road, Winton, at around 6pm last night following reports a woman had been found dead inside.
There they discovered the body of 25-year-old Linzi Ashton.
A Home Office post mortem to establish the cause of death has yet to take place but a murder inquiry has been launched.

"A young woman has murdered and our thoughts are with her family and friends at what is obviously a totally devastating time for them.
“While it would not be appropriate for us to comment on how she died at this time, a full and thorough post mortem examination will be taking place in due course to establish exactly how and when she died and following that we will be in a better position to provide more information.
“There will be extra officers in the area to offer reassurance so please talk to them if you have any concerns or want to provide us with any information.”
