Preston North End manager, Graham Westley reportedly refunded petrol costs to disappointed fans, after the Johnstone's Paint Trophy match against Bury was cancelled an hour before kick-off because of a waterlogged pitch.
The minibus full of Preston supporters came across Westley at a petrol station on the journey back home. The former non-league striker reportedly bought the fans a can of Coke and gave them £40 to cover fuel costs.
A new-look Preston is one of twelve North West sides in action in the Football League this evening.
Manager Graham Westley had a mass clear-out in the summer, 25 players were shown the door, leaving supporters cheering on an unrecognisable team.
