Niqab discussion held by Rochdale Community Forum

A single, often black, piece of cloth has become the centre of much discussion and media frenzy of late such that some MP’s have called for a ‘national debate’ on it.

Some call it a barrier to communication, an impediment to dialogue and cohesion and others call it a risk to our national security.

The niqab is proudly adopted as a symbol of religious observance by many members of our local community whilst others will feel somewhat uncomfortable around this apparel.
