Campaigners in Cumbria have declared victory in their efforts to save their local hospital from closure.
It's believed bosses at Westmorland General were considering closing or privatising the hospital.
8500 people had signed a petition against the proposals, and today Cumbria and Lancashire North Clinical Commissioning Groups and the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust which runs the hospital confirmed it will remain open, and in public hands.
South Lakes MP Tim Farron has welcomed the move by the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Trust to review its maternity and neonatal services.
Mr Farron said the inquiry is "an overdue but welcome step forward to get justice for victims" of past failings.
Thousands of spare Olympic tickets will be given to members of the Armed Forces, after a Twitter campaign involving South Lakes MP Tim Farron.
The campaign was launched when news broke that more than 200,000 were spare.
Now the organisers have announced that through the charity Tickets for Troops over 10,000 Olympic and Paralympic tickets have been donated.
