A teeange boy who drowned in a reservoir in Yarrow Valley Country Park in Chorley has been named as Thomas Barton. He was 15 years old and from Coppull.
– Lancashire Police spokeswomanWe received a report at around 7.30pm yesterday evening to say that a young boy had got into difficulties in water at Birkacre Brow in Yarrow Valley Country Park.
A rescue operation was launched involving a number of emergency services but sadly a body was recovered from the water shortly afterwards at around 11.30pm last night.
A 15-year-old boy has drowned in a lake at Yarrow Valley Park near Chorley. He had been swimming with four friends. Emergency services were called to the scene at 7:30pm on Sunday and a body was found at 11:30pm. He has not yet been formally identified.
