Greater Manchester health boss pushes for debate on controversial NHS bill

Ashton-Under-Lyne based Dr Kailash Chand OBE used Governments E-Petitions scheme to call for the Health & Social Care Bill to be dropped.

Ashton-Under-Lyne based Dr Kailash Chand OBE passed the 100,000 signatures mark making it eligible to be debated in the House of Commons. He and Stalybride and Hyde MP Jonathan Reynolds will put the petition before the backbench business committee and request a debate.

This could mean the Government discussing dropping the bill before the bill itself is even put before Parliament. Dr Chand will be informed before the end of the day as to whether his E-Petition has been successful.
