Homes handed heritage status
The childhood homes of former Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney have become grade two listed buildings. "Mendips" in Woolton, Liverpool is where Lennon learned to play guitar. Sir Paul lived in nearby Forthlin Road. The band rehearsed and wrote some of their most famous songs there.
