Police are trying to reassure residents in a village in Cheshire after a man was shot dead by officers when he was sitting in a car. Anthony Grainger, 35, was killed by after a marksman from Greater Manchester Police opened fire in a ' pre -planned operation.' Elaine Willcox has the story:
Armed Greater Manchester Police officers shot a man dead after the car he was in was stopped in Culcheth, Cheshire. The incident, which took place on Saturday night, has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
