Windermere centre gets the go ahead

A four-million-pound convention centre overlooking Windermere has been given the go ahead.

It'll cater for six-hundred people and create thirty-five new jobs. But it's size and glass design have raised concerns with conservationists.

A decision is due this morning on plans to build a £4 million convention centre on the shore of Windermere. It will be large enough to accommodate 600 delegates. But its size, location and glass-fronted design have caused controversy.
