Olympic gold medallist Chris Boardman will be carrying the Olympic torch when it reaches Merseyside later.
The cycling champion will be joined by former Spice Girl Mel C to carry the flame in Birkenhead.
Iraq veteran Craig Lundberg, who was blinded whilst serving in the country in 2007, will carry the flame on a special Mersey Ferry from Birkenhead to the Pier Head.
The torch then moves on to Crosby, where around 5,000 schoolchildren will be attempting a new world record by creating the biggest Olympic rings logo at Crosby beach.
