Cavendish wins in Holland

Mark Cavendish showed he's in good form ahead of the Tour de France and Olympics after winning the Ster ZLM Toer in Holland.

The Isle of Man cyclist had an eight-second lead over his nearest challenger going into today's final stage and he kept that advantage to finish safely to take the overall win

A delighted Cavendish said: "I've been second a couple of times in the past but this is my first General Classification win and I'm really, really happy with it."

He added: "I wanted to be in my best form and definitely am so I'm looking forward to France now. You've got to start the Tour de France as fresh as possible - especially so this year with the Olympics so soon after."
