Sir Bernard Lovell, one of the pioneers of radio astronomy and the man who gave his name to the telescope at Jodrell Bank, has died aged 98.
The funeral of radio astronomer Sir Bernard Lovell, will take place today. Sir Bernard was the founder of the Jodrell Bank Observatory in Cheshire and helped build a 76 metre telescope - famous throughout British science and engineering.
