MPs want more time to examine rail deal

There are urgent calls for the Government to delay the signing of a controversial deal that will see the running of the West Coast Main Line through the region change hands.

The 13-year deal will mean the First Group taking over from Virgin Trains.

More than a- hundred thousand passengers have joined an online petition against the decision.

Liverpool Riverside MP Louise Ellman, who is Chair of the Transport Select Committe, wants her Committee to have more time to examine the bid:-
