The families of policewomen PC Fiona Bone and PC Nicola Hughes joined Greater Manchester police at the vigil in Hattersley one week on from their shootings. Around 1,000 people paid tribute to the fallen officers, including members of the fire and ambulance services as well as the local community.
The funerals for two police officers shot dead in Hattersley will be held next week.
Sir Peter Fahy described GMP as "one big family" adding "We have lost two members of our family and we feel that loss very, very deeply."
