The 26.2 mile race round Chester starts at 9am today, with around 2500 runners due to take part. It is the third year the event has been held.
The marathon begins at Chester Racecourse and heads towards the town centre, passing key landmarks including the Cathedral, Eastgate Clock and the Amphitheatre, before looping round through the Cheshire and North Wales countryside and then finishing back in Chester in front of the Town Hall.
