Killer to appeal sentence

A man who murdered an Indian student in Salford is due in court today to argue his 30-year minimum jail sentence is too harsh. Kiaran Stapleton shot Anuj Bidve while he was walking into Manchester on Boxing Day.

Decision reserved in Stapleton sentence plea

The killer of Indian student Anuj Bidve will have an appeal to have his sentence reduced heard at a later date.

Kiaran Stapleton shot Anuj dead on Boxing Day last year in Salford.

Today a judge reserved a decision on an appeal to reduce his life sentence, of which Stapleton must serve a minimum of 30 years, to another date to be decided.
