A man's been jailed for life after murdering St Annes baker.
Father-of-two Andrew Boardman was viscously attacked by Jason Brookes, 23, Layton, leaving him with serious head and face injuries.
Preston Crown Court heard the 53-year-old died shortly after the assault in the flat on Glen Eldon Road, St Annes, on June 30.
Brookes had been out drinking the night of the murder and had been involved in numerous confrontations with people in St Annes. He's been sentenced to life in prison and must serve a minimum of 18 and half years.
Detective Chief Inspector Pete Simm said, “This was one of the most violent and brutal murders that I have ever seen and I am pleased that Jason Brookes is now behind bars for life.
"Brookes was intent on becoming embroiled in a fight that night and sadly Andrew was in the wrong place at the wrong time and was subjected to a violent and sustained attack in which he was beaten to death without any provocation."
