£1m payout after shallow swimming pool dive

A man left paralysed after diving into a shallow swimming pool has received more than a million pounds in compensation.

Danny McCarrick dived into water just a metre deep at the Skipsea Sands Holiday Park in East Yorkshire. There was just one small warning sign - and no lifeguard.

Five years later, he's moved into an adapted house in New Moston. And the park has been made to pay for his care.

Clare Fallon reports.
