Two men have been sentenced to 10 years in prison after robbing a bank in Leyland.
Justin Hulme, 27 and Darren Hope, 33 both from Leigh burst into the Lloyds TSB last May with a gun and sledgehammer before demanding cash from a security guard delivering money to the bank.
During the raid they held a gun to the head of the security guard as well as threatening staff and innocent members of the public who were forced to lie on the floor.
The men then fled the scene in a grey Ford Mondeo having stolen a significant quantity of cash.
Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Hurst said, “I cannot imagine how terrified the staff and the customers must have felt...Today should serve as a warning to those people who are thinking of committing these type of offences, that where ever you choose to hide, we will never stop looking for you.”
