Isle of Man road closures following severe weather

The following roads will remain closed until at least 12 noon tomorrow according to the Department of Infrastructure:

  • Beinn-y-Phott – Severe drifting has occurred overnight settling on compacted ice, work has commenced once again shifting the snow drifts and the ice has been treated, however this has hampered the road being opened to traffic.
  • Sulby Glen – good progress is being made utilising an excavator to remove large quantities of drifting snow, and gritting teams have commenced treating the area.
  • Druidale – Ballaugh plantation to Brandywell Cottage – large quantities of snow and thick ice in places.
  • Injebreck – good progress has been made utilising an excavator, however there is still substantial amounts of snow to clear with thick sheet ice in places.

A further assessment of road conditions will be undertaken again tomorrow morning by the Department of Infrastructure.
