Violent robber goes on run from Lancashire prison

A convicted robber has gone on the run from a prison in Lancashire.

Barry Taun, 32, was serving an indeterminate sentence after committing robbery in 2007 in Fallowfield, Greater Manchester.

He went missing from Kirkham prison, near Preston, on Sunday.

Police say he has links to Fallowfield, Withington and Stockport.

Officers say he is known to be violent and the public should not approach him.
